Buy Sketchup Pro 2016

With the release of SketchUp 2016 we no longer support the EPix file format for export. If you continue to use this exporter you'll need to downsave your SketchUp file to SketchUp 2015 or earlier and then export using that older version.

Goodbye .rbs and Hello .rbe! We have added a new encryption that you can use to help protect your extension Intellectual Property (IP). SketchUp 2016 can read both .rbe and .rbs filetypes. This should help make sure that we maintain backwards compatibility for authors who need some time to re-encrypt their extensions. To use our new encryption, simply upload an unencrypted version of your .rbz package to our new Digital Signature and Encryption page and we will encrypt it and return it to you. Visit the new Extension Digital Signature page for more information.

We have focused on adding features to the SketchUp C API in 2016 to provide greater benefit to our developers and as part of our continued effort to fully deprecate and remove the old C++ API in the future. Below is a complete list of functions that we have added for 2016. We are continuing to add more until we gain enough coverage to consider the C API at feature parity with the deprecated C++ API.

I received my email with the update for Sketchup Pro 2016 and my license information. I downloaded 2016 Pro but now I cannot activate my license. I keep getting an error message the licensing information is incorrect. I copy and paste the information direct from the email but it will not work. Help please.

SketchUp Pro subscription includes the eponymous desktop 3D modeler, plus importers and exporters to common 2D and 3D formats, access to SketchUp's repository of pre-built 3D models (3D Warehouse), access to its extension library (Extension Warehouse), access to LayOut (2D documentation software) and Style Builder (create custom edge styles for SketchUp models).[28][29] SketchUp Pro 2016 has native integration with Trimble Connect, treat 3D Warehouse models as references, a rebuilt Generate Report and now LayOut offers web-friendly reference objects as well as a new LayOut API.[30]

Hi All, I have a licensed copy of Sketchup Pro 2016 for work. It was installed on a network user account (AD login). Unfortunately the account has been locked, I have only used my license once so I know I can use it again under my new Mac user account but it is failing all of the time.

Did you accidentally activate a 2017 version ( If you had purchase in 2016, a 12 month maintenance and support was included, which means you have received the serial and autho for 2017, around the release of 2017 (Dec 2016)

Hello,I have had the Desktop Version of Sketchup Pro 2016 since, well, 2016. I downloaded it and have been using it at no cost until today. It will no longer let me in unless I buy a license. Is there no longer a free Desktop Version? Am I looking in the wrong place.

SketchUp only supports the 3 most recent versions. So customer support is discontinued and certain online features may no longer work. For example 3D Warehouse downloads are no longer supported for SketchUp 2016 and older versions from the 3D Warehouse window. (The Components inspector panel may still be able to download 3DW models directly into v2016. Otherwise you may need to download from an external browser and manually import model files into SketchUp from your Downloads folder.)

I use sketchup pro 2016 for work (installed in the last month) and it has been working fine. This morning I came to open up a drawing and it just produces a bug splat on startup. I cannot get into sketchup to check for updates or anything. It will not open old drawings or launch from the start menu.

I own an individual licence for SketchUp pro 2016. I use it for designing things for my use several times a year and not professional use. In 2016 it contained all the features that I felt I needed so I did not continue to upgrade. Now I find that the functionality that I had (purchased, and paid to upgrade and maintain for several years) is no longer a part of my sketchup pro 2016. Some features were taken away. I do not recall receiving any notice that access to the 3D warehouse or extensions would be discontinued for my version until I found them missing. I can work around the extensions by manually installing them, but the access to the 3D warehouse is now limited to generic files which require substantial manipulation to be usable. I also use solid geometry and printing to scale in layout which is why I purchased the pro version in the first place.

You can still download models from the 3D Warehouse, but you will have to access them via your browser, not from within SU itself, and as Box says, download the Collada version. Unless they were originally uploaded in SU 2016, models in that format are no longer available.

Thank you for the very thoughtful description of the problem. Obviously I have not been keeping up with the forum news, and I am late to the awareness of the impact of this change. I understand that support for older software is difficult and not always in the best interest of new products. I am confident that every version has many improvements, but there comes a point where they are not useful to the occasional user as myself. But regression does not seem right either. Please correct me if I am wrong, but the 3D warehouse seems much more difficult to use now than it was in 2016. If Sketchup 2017 makes the 3D Warehouse more usable and easier for Trimble, and better for me, can I upgrade to that version?

I use sketchup for personal woodworking modeling for one or two projects per year. I would like to be able to access the extension warehouse and 3d model warehouse and be able to print to scale. Using solid modeling tools is a plus. What is the least expensive option for me going forward?

Least expensive would be not to upgrade at all.You can download collada files from the warehouse using a browser and import them into SU2016You can download Extensions from the EWarehouse using a browser and install them into SU 2016.You could print to scale from layout.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) today released SketchUp 2016, the latest version of the world's most widely used 3D modeling software for architects, engineers, design and construction professionals as well as members of the global maker community. Along with multiple enhancements for driving efficiency and simplifying workflow, this release brings SketchUp users the power of Trimble Connect, a cloud-based collaboration platform allowing teams to access, analyze, manage and share project data from the cloud anywhere, at any time.

The interest among the SketchUp community to collaborate has amplified the need to work together and share data rich SketchUp models across the entire design, build and operate (DBO) lifecycle. To meet that need, Trimble Connect has been integrated directly into SketchUp Pro, allowing teams to more easily access, reference, share and collaborate on projects in the cloud. In addition, SketchUp 2016 offers several enhancements to its core modeling tools, streamlined reporting, increased overall usability and a tighter integration with 3D Warehouse, Trimble's online platform for sharing and downloading free 3D models and materials. To see a full list and greater detail on new features and enhancements to SketchUp 2016, visit: www.sketchup.com/2016.

SketchUp 2016 is available now and supports a variety of operating systems including OS X El Capitan and Microsoft Windows 10. Every SketchUp 2016 download starts with a 30-day trial of SketchUp Pro features. The 2016 Pro licenses can be used on a Mac or a PC. Additional details and downloads are available at: www.sketchup.com. Information on licensing options may be found at: www.sketchup.com/buy/sketchup-pro.

Used in over 150 countries around the world, Trimble Buildings' solutions are transforming the way the world designs, builds and operates infrastructure and buildings.

SketchUp Pro 2016 is here! With this release, SketchUp Pro offers users a connection improvement and several improved tools to make SketchUp Pro even more intuitive than it already was.

  • Support for Mac OS X El Capitan and Windows 10.

  • Trimble Connect is now integrated in SketchUp Pro. Connect is Trimble's platform for storing, syncing, referencing, sharing and collaborating on design and building projects. Trimble Connect will be accessible directly from the File menu and will give users the opportunity to upload, download and update SKP's from the project folders.

  • SketchUp Pro 2016 gives the user the opportunity to reload 3D Warehouse models. Every instance used in the model will be reloaded, so it is a helpful method for working with proxy models, if you break something or collaborate through the warehouse.

  • Say goodbye to missing references! With this release, LayOut's reference objects are now web friendly. This means that LayOut projects can reference and update files that are stored and synced with service like Dropbox, Google Drive and Trimble Connect Sync. LayOut will notify the user when there's an update for the web reference available.

  • With the LayOut API, developers can build extensions to automate the creation and customization of .layout files from SketchUp models.
